Contextual Targeting
New FeaturesSublime Ads now supports contextual ad targeting via the API.
If you’re building with LLMs, you can now pass conversation-aware signals when fetching ads, and get more relevant placements.
What's New
- Context-aware ad serving on
GET /api/adsusing: contexttopicintentaudiencelocaleconversation_keywords
- Smart fallback: if no contextual matches are found, we automatically fall back to the normal eligible ad pool.
- AI-assisted targeting context generation in the ad editor:
- Generate context from ad copy with one click
- Loading state and quick insert into the targeting field
- Updated docs with:
- A new contextual targeting section
- An example system prompt for LLMs that call Sublime Ads
- Updated API examples for contextual requests
- Demo endpoint (
GET /demo/ads) now supports contextual params too, so you can test relevance without auth.
Example Request
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" \
"https://sublimeads.com/api/ads?format=json&count=2&topic=ruby&intent=learn&audience=developers&locale=en-US&conversation_keywords=rails,api,hotwire"
Why This Matters
LLM experiences are context-first. Ads should be too.
With this release, you can keep ad delivery lightweight and API-first while making placements more relevant to what users are actually discussing.
